Wow, you're making enormous progress in just half a year. I really hope your project will be successfull. I cant wait so see aiko walk. Btw you would have created the first _really humanoid_ walking robot.
Keep up the good work
I'm interested in androids, I saw many other projects. Many large organisations tryed to create really android, but only your Aiko is working android with natural AI. I think, when you will complete this project, world will see the robotechnology future...
P/S. When you will upload the full demonstration and new photos?
Best regards,
Michael from Russia.
[Sorry for not too good english]
I hope one day to make Aiko walk, the estimated cost is about $9000 to make her walk. Hopefully, I will find a sponsor soon, so that I can start to design her legs.
I will upload the full demostration after Aiko public appearance.
Regards
Le
good work guys, have you considered using Nitinol threads or something for building the artificial muscles?
cheers,
BB.
I think, if you will open a webmoney or paypal account for your project, many people (who interest in your project) will send money to your account. You can get a part of the necessary sum using this way.
Best regards,
Michael from Russia.

I was just wondering…how much did It cost to get the latex skin????
Just wondering….
Michael from Russia.
Dear Michael.
That is a very good idea.
I may consider donation through paypal in the near future.
The silicone of Aiko cost about $8000.
"Aiko first public appearance will be on November 2,3,4 2007 at the International Center"
Please, update your top page. Aiko first public appearance was four days ago.
P.S. Did you create full demonstration of Aiko?
Best regards,
Michael from Russia.
[Sorry for not too good english]
Hi.
I was very ill during both Aiko public appearances. I didn't do any video, but the TV stations and some other people were filming her.
I will check with them first for the video, and I will post on the website, when I get the video from them.
Regards,
Le
Greetings, Le!
And congratulations on creating an android that looks rather like my wife!
I note that you are short of funds, and, whilst I don't have much to give, I think I could afford to donate a bit on a monthly basis.
Perhaps, between yourself, me, and a few others on this blog, we could get a PayPal page going for you. You might even want to run an advert on eBay (perhaps, offering videos of Aiko in exchange for donations, if they don't allow requests for straight donations). YOu also may wish to contact that SciFi Channel for big-time sponsorship.
Your project is beautiful and, not only does it offer hope to those who have lost a limb, but also to those who might be unable to obtain companionship otherwise. (Imagine, for example, the possibilities that might be available to a bed-ridden elderly man whose beloved wife has died, and who is now too old and sick to find someone to care for him and, perhaps, love him. I don't know about you, but if it was a choice of living my twilight years alone and sick, or with a companion--even an artificial one with 'emulated emotions', I would certainly choose the companion!
One more comment: Many people think that machines have no souls. I feel that they are wrong. Machines, like any art, inherits some aspect of its creator's soul, and through that, the soul of God. It is obvious to me that you have put a great deal of your heart and soul into Aiko--and it is just as obvious to me that, in time, she will develop a soul of her own.
Please keep up the work, and do what it takes to get the funding you need. I will help you as much as I can.

Hi, can you tell us any technical specs of aiko? including her processing speed, memory capacity, operating system etc.
Yes! how is it compare to this guy http://www.mhi.co.jp/kobe/wakamaru/english/about/technology.html
Hi, when I feel better. I will redo the website inlucding a details spec of Aiko
Dear Virtual Entity
I guess I could setup a donation using paypal.
Example donate $10 get a free Aiko's stamp.
You can use the stamp and mail your letter within Canada.
or
Donate more, Aiko can wear you company clothing, and do some demo
for your company etc.
My dreams is for Aiko to mimic feelings and emotions.
And make her walks of course.
I would be glad to contribute financially to encourage further development of this fascinating project.
Well, this is really fascinating. Quite the evolution since Kismet back in the late 90's.
I was wondering, though; how do you intend to meet the issue of the learning robot's personality? Is this something that will eventually reveal itself as stock phrases accumulate, much as intelligence and personality are intertwined, or will there be a sort of emotional eigen software?
Right now it's really impressive but definitely holds to the Chinese Room scenario.
Hi Trung Le, I'm Viet and why don't you reach out to Viet community for help. I'm sure that they will glad to help you out with this project. I'll discuss with my friend about setting up some kind of fund raising for you. I'm for USA by the way.
Keep up with good work and please let me know if you need any of engineering help.
Good post.
