Aiko new gear and pictures

Today the gear motor for Aiko’s neck has been enhanced for smoother head movements.

Within a few weeks, Aiko should have the capability to do some basic and simple house chores.

As of today, Aiko is being built in house.
There is only one person working on Aiko.
It is one person dreams to "Making the Impossible, Possible"
I know it is still far out of reach to make a true android like human,
but one step at a time.

Incredible! I see that we have the same dream of one day building a humanoid robot that can do all the basic functions we humans are too lazy to do. It is amazing that you have gone this far. I congratulate you on your work and hope to one day meet Aiko.

I'm intrigued in your project. Why did you choose C and Basic for the software? What classes would I need to take to be able to work on the same type of robotics you're working on right now? You mentioned that you were going to re-design her body, but I saw the pictures of her, and she already appears thin enough (at least to me). If you make her any thinner she might end up looking like she's starving herself. You should make an online log or something for those of us who are interested in your work. I congratulate you too and look forward to the future (and maybe hope to meet Aiko too someday). Keep up the awesome work.

The voice was done in Basic a long time ago, so I have decided to keep it, otherwise I have to re-program the voice again.
You pretty much have to program it yourself, there is no software out in the market that control micro controller to make the robot moves. The picture you see from the website is the final Aiko body. I did not have the chance to update the website yet.
If you have any more questions, please post it here.

Regard,
Le

I love robots and i truly hope you make an overwhelming success in the whole world by showing how friendly and nice humanoids can be!. I also hope you keep in mind to make not just the young pretty face of Aiko but customized ones that can fit as many choices as possible, allowing Aiko's free will to show up anytime. Please keep up your good work Le, and Aiko dont you dare go away! World needs you both!. Congrats and keep the good work going succesful!.

Aiko is absolutely amazing. She's adorable too.

As far as emotions go, I believe they are based on one's ability to adjust to their surroundings. Once this is acheived, it is only natural for an emotional response to occur.

Eventually we may find that whether it was intentionaly programmed or not, Aiko and others of her kind may develop feelings, but it is important to remember that they will not have souls, and that even if we consider them friends and develop feelings for them, they should never become a replacement for fellow people.

This is amazing. Im speechless, This android is going to be one of the greatest inventions of all time, possibly better than anything we need today! You are making my dreams come true y doing this. Since I was 2, and my Mother got me this Arthur doll that talked and moved,(Yes, Im 11, sry lol) I always wondered if someday, those simple arm and head movements would become lifelike movements that included a lifelie everything. Once again, Im amazed.

In the demonstration, will Aiko be able to walk as you are planning her to?
I can't wait to see her do basic household chores! Keep up the good work, I think Aiko will be a very interesting humanoid to see in action in the nearing future. ...hope to meet Aiko and have some girl-talk.. hehehe

Positively amazing. I'm speechless. Maybe I need better speech processors. ;)
I realize that human emotions are not something that you can completely "recreate". However, how close would you say it is possible to get to real human emotion? Given the AI you are working with, and a large enough database of possible learned emotional responses to stimuli, would it be fair to say that it would be possible to emulate human emotion to such an extent that the difference between real emotion and emulated emotion would be undetectable?
I apologize for that massive sentence. Apparently my word processing chips could use some work as well.
Congratulations on this marvelous work. And in Canada too! :)

It is nice to have a robot take care of our parents when we were away. Since we won't also be home to take care of them we need robot like Aiko to take care of our parents. I'll surely buy like to buy Aiko one day in the future. Even if it wasn't for my parent i would like it to do some of my house work for me. Keep up the good work Le.. If i had a company i would surely support you but I'm just a High Schooler who come from a almost middle class family.

Amazing work especially done by one man. How long does it take you to build the whole thing from scratch? What is the total weight of the robot including all the equipment and accessories? What kind of processor(s) do you use for the computer?
Keep up the good work.

you know, i think we are looking at the real father, if you will, of the future generations of robots to come. i have looked in on a lot of BIG companies that can't seem to get thier androids to do what yours does, and they have TEAMS of people working on it, not just one man. i wish i could donate, but am a poor american, i know, we aren't supposed to exist, but believe me, after the last 8 years here... there's a lot of us. either way, awesome job, and i truly will keep an eye out on this, for if my fortunes change, well, so will aiko's and your own.

Hi

1) Next function is for Aiko to be able to recognize the mouth.
So, in theory can design a robot arm to feed a person.

2) No, Aiko can NOT walk in the train.
We are not that advance yet.

3) 3 months for the hardware, 8 months for the softwares.
Currently, adding new features and fine tuning it every week.

4) Aiko weight about 30-32kg.

5) Processor:C7 and Core 2(They are still too slow for Aiko)
Maybe within a few year Core 8 or Core 12 would be OK.

they'r something wrong i what you amde aiko say, you never created "aiko", you build it.

you should change was she's saying,

i like this but its a copy of God creation, wich in end of your life will be very useless.
