A few people have suggested I should start a donation for Project Aiko. There are a lot of ways you can help out Aiko.

1) If you have any old or new clothes, you can donate them to Aiko. Aiko have been wearing the same clothes for months.

2) You can donate any amount through paypal
(You will get 1 Aiko stamp. The stamp can be used to mail any letter within Canada. Just let me know if you want it or not when you donate)

3) For a larger donation. You can write the script, and Aiko will act it out as best as she can within her abilities. The script can be in English or Japanese. Most remarkably, Aiko’s arm can mimic physical sensation. Aiko can tell the difference between being touched gently, being hit or grabbed, and will react accordingly. The arm is currently being tested with the B.R.A.I.N.S software, and will be incorporated into Aiko’s body once testing is completed. Eventually, the touch sensation system will be integrated into all facets of Aiko’s skin and body.

In the future, this technology can be beneficial for people born with or who have undergone amputations. This is the first step toward a life-like mechanical limb that has the ability to feel physical sensation.

Aiko new gear and pictures

Today the gear motor for Aiko’s neck has been enhanced for smoother head movements.

Within a few weeks, Aiko should have the capability to do some basic and simple house chores.
